In 2011, Brad Breeding was a financial advisor in Raleigh, North Carolina. Working with an array of clients, he realized that many people felt confused and overwhelmed by the various senior living options and the nuances between them, particularly as it relates to continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs, or “life plan” communities).

Brad also realized that there was a lack of unbiased and in-depth information to help consumers and their advisors effectively navigate the decision process. It was this realization that inspired the concept that would become MyLifeSite.

3 Differentiating Facts about myLifeSite

1. MyLifeSite features useful information delivered objectively.

Retirement communities featured on our website are happy — and even proud — to provide the type of in-depth information that helps you evaluate and compare your options more effectively. Our community profiles cover over 50 useful data points. MyLifeSite DOES NOT accept any referral fees from the retirement communities on our website because this doesn’t serve your interests. Instead, we only charge a low annual fee for retirement communities to have a profile report on our website. To ensure consistency, every community is required to provide us with the same data.

2. We are much more than a basic search directory.

We recognize the importance of helping you find the communities that best fit your specific lifestyle needs and preferences. We also understand that you want to do much of your research on your own time. Using the depth of information provided to us by the retirement communities on our website, MyLifeSite allows you to filter your search results according to what’s most important to you, such as available amenities, hobbies and interests, nearby hospitals or universities, type of residency contract, and much more.

3. Education is key to making the best decision.

The community-specific information we provide in our profile reports is only useful if you know what the information means. There are so many details to understand, and comparing apples-to-applies isn’t always easy. The good news is that we are industry experts, and the educational resources we provide will equip you to evaluate the data in a helpful way. This also will help you know what additional questions to ask when you visit with a community.

“Our research of CCRCs always left us with more questions than answers until we discovered myLifeSite.”
